Some Common Forms of Joint Pain:
Of all the types, osteoarthritis is said to be the most common. It basically occurs in joints of the hip and knee. Ankles and spines are also affected.
The next is the Rheumatoid arthritis. The prime reason for this form of arthritis is the weak functioning of our immune system. The swelling slowly spreads to bones and cartilage also. It affects the symmetrical joints like for example joints of both the wrists.
The other form is Gout in which uric acid increases and leads to the formation of needle like crystals in the joints. This may lead to extreme pain and is most commonly found in the knees and wrists.
Yet another form of joint pain is pseudogout which occurs due to the deposition of calcium crystals within the joints.
Apart from these there are some other forms like Ankylosing spondylitis- where inflammation of the spine occurs; juvenile arthritis- occurs in children below 16 years of age; psoriatic arthritis- red scaly patches occurs on the skin of the neck, knees and elbows.
Treating Joint Pain Naturally:
Shea fruit: which is very much popular in the cosmetic industry contains an active ingredient which can be used in treating inflammation of the joints. It may lead to reduction in cartilage deterioration too. The extracts are effective in treating not the just the cause but symptoms of joint pain too.
Ginger Root: Ginger should be taken either in your daily diet or else make ginger tea. It helps in reducing the inflammation of the joints.
Cayenne Pepper: It is known for its hot and spicy taste and now it is considered to be a wonderful ointment for joint pain. You can mix ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper in 1 tbsp of vinegar (preferably apple cider) and add it to warm water and let your foot relax in it for around 20 minutes. Apart from this you can make a paste of cayenne pepper and coconut oil and apply as an ointment on the joints.
Turmeric: Turmeric has been in use in our diet since ages and is widely known for its medicinal properties. An effective ingredient found in turmeric is Curcumin which is known to be anti-inflammatory. Apart from this, it is also considered to be a good antioxidant.
Grape Juice: It contains an effective ingredient called as anthocyanins which is helpful in reducing inflammation of the joints.
Nettle Leaf: This is a common herb which consists of lots of vitamins and minerals. Apart from treating different kinds of allergies it is also effective in treating arthritis. It is also known to be a good blood cleaner.
Liquorice Root: This works well in treating rheumatoid arthritis and helps in relieving stomach ulcers too.
Apple Cider Vinegar: It is anti inflammatory and drinking around 1 teaspoon of vinegar daily as the first thing in the morning is said to be effective in reducing pain.
Cabbage Leaves: Cabbage is known to be anti-inflammatory in nature and it is always good to eat a diet which consists of cabbage leaves. Apart from relieving pain it is also found useful in flushing out the harmful radicals from the body.
Apart from these it is also said that drinking lots of juices, water and milk too help in relieving joint pain.
